About

My name is Audrey! I'm married to an incredible guy, and I'm a homeschooling mama to six kids. I am on the autism spectrum and deal with a small collection of neurodivergencies (BPD, ADD, OCD), while parenting some kids that are also spectrum-dwellers and ADHD critters. I'm the oldest of seven kids and I feel like that gave me a strong head start on parenting my own. My mom is a genius and a saint and I still message her for help when I'm stuck.

I write, and write, and write, and drink just enough coffee, eat more candy than my kids know about, and have a weird sleep schedule. I really, really like Batman. I am literally (physically and spiritually) alive because of Jesus and He is the Rock I cannot survive without. Even in those moments of struggle, my cry echoes Peter's: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:68-69, NASB)

I believe most parents want to be prepared to handle normal (and slightly abnormal) life without losing their cool. I think most parents want to yell less, connect more, and spend less time feeling overwhelmed. I'm working on it, myself! I also want those things! But I think one reason a lot of parents end up stuck and frustrated as parents and home educators is that they don't know what's normal for the age of their kids and they don't know how to prepare themselves.

That's where Swiss Army Mama comes in. It's a place for me to share with you what works for us, what didn't work for us but might work for you, and generally try to help be part of the village our society has lost. So feel free to message me with suggestions or questions and I hope you find what you're looking for here, or find a way to what you need. Fold all those tools up into your pocket and then let's go.

We've got kids to raise.
